The Language Lab, in full compliance with the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation (EU 2016/679), is committed to the highest standards for the protection of your personal data and intends to use it only for the purposes clearly stated herein, while ensuring the unhindered exercise of your relevant rights.
Information that we collect
“Personal Data” is any information that can be used to identify a natural person. The Language Lab collects such information when you use or interact with it through our website. Specifically:
- If you are a visitor to the website.
- Through the contact form on the website and in order to serve any requests, clarifying questions or even information about offers and news concerning the activity of The Language Lab, you will be asked for your name and your e-mail address, while it will be necessary to fill in and the field with the subject of your query. Then you have the possibility to explain the topic you are interested in in a special field. We ask that you do not disclose your sensitive personal data to us through this feature. The personal data you provide us is received encrypted through a special connection with SSL (Secure Socket Layer) encryption technology and thus cannot be read / intercepted by third parties. They will not be stored by our website in a database or transferred or processed by any third party data processor. Instead, this data will be sent to us in an email via our mail server. Our server has and uses state-of-the-art encryption protocols TLS (Transport Layer Security) and SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) which provide absolute communication security over a computer network and which are used when sending and receiving our mail and in the local our network.
- While browsing the website you may be asked to submit your personal information in order to benefit from some of our services/benefits. For example, when you provide your consent for promotional communications and news about our products and/or services.
- The Language Lab also collects your personal data when you participate in its events or other promotions, such as sweepstakes, contests or offers.

Information concerning minors
Our website and services are not intended for use by minors under the age of 16. The Language Lab does not collect Personal Data from minors under the age of 16 without the consent of a parent or guardian. In any case The Language Lab deletes any personal data of minors under 13 years of age. Why do we use your Personal Data?
We use your data to:
- To contact all possible categories of subjects to service requests and provide clarifications or information about offers and news concerning The Language Lab.
- To conduct surveys regarding the quality of The Language Lab’s service delivery, as well as its products/services.

Who do we share your personal data with?
The personal data we collect may be transmitted to third parties.

- To our specially authorized partners for the provision of advertising and promotion services of The Language Lab.

Legal bases for processing your personal data
The Language Lab relies on four legal bases when processing your personal data, which are as follows:
- Performance of a contract: when the processing of your personal data is necessary to fulfill our obligations arising from the contract. You are not obliged to provide us with your data, however if you choose not to do so we will not be able to process your request for a contract.
- Legal obligation: when we are required to process your personal data to comply with a legal obligation, such as keeping records for tax purposes or providing information to a public body or law enforcement authority.
- Legitimate interest: we may process data about you when we have a legitimate interest in carrying out a lawful activity in order to ensure the continuity of that activity, as long as it does not exceed your interests.

Your rights
Your rights in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data are as follows:
- Right of access to your personal data that we process.
- Right to rectification of incomplete or inaccurate data we hold about you.
- Right to erasure of your personal data.
- Right to restrict data processing.
- Right to data portability to you or third parties. You can receive the personal data concerning you in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format, as well as transmit it, under the legal conditions, to another controller as long as this does not adversely affect the rights and freedoms of others (only for automated processing of information that you have provided us with your consent or for the performance of the contract between us).
- Right to object to the processing of your personal data at any time. The Language Lab may not satisfy your said right if it demonstrates compelling and legitimate reasons for processing that override your interests, rights and freedoms or to establish, exercise or support legal claims.
- Right to withdraw your consent at any time, when this is the legal basis for processing by us, but without affecting the legality of the processing until the time of withdrawal.

The information we provide you, any communication as well as all actions we take pursuant to Articles 15 to 22 and 34 GDPR are provided free of charge.
Security and Preservation of your Personal Data
We retain your personal data only for the period absolutely necessary in relation to the purposes of the data processing, i.e. for the duration of the contract between us, your consent, our legal obligations (such as compliance for tax purposes) and our legal interest on a case-by-case basis.
The processing of personal data is carried out in a way to ensure its privacy. The Language Lab implements appropriate technical and organizational measures in order to ensure an appropriate level of security of your data against the risks of accidental or unlawful destruction, accidental loss, alteration, prohibited dissemination or access and any other form of unlawful processing.
The data you provide to us is protected with appropriate information security techniques to ensure both its safe transfer over the internet and secure storage in information systems.
We require all third parties that may process your personal data to have appropriate technical and operational security measures in place to protect your personal data, in accordance with Greek and EU data protection legislation.
Special Data Categories
We ask that you do not disclose your sensitive personal data to us through our website or via email. The processing of personal data of this category does not in any case serve the purposes of the processing, as defined above.
